Our fundraising efforts are focused on raising money for Cure Leukaemia who are a fantastic charity set up to make clinical trials available to blood cancer patients throughout the UK.
This charity is close to our hearts because a number of our team have been directly affected by leukaemia and blood cancer. For us, supporting Cure Leukaemia is our way of showing support for our colleagues and their families as well as raising vital funds to help save lives.
Leukaemia and blood cancer can affect anyone of any age – regardless of health or lifestyle and the affects can be devastating. Around 12,000 people a year die from blood cancers in Britain and the prospect of survival for many adults with blood cancers is still less than 50%.
Cure Leukaemia focus their activity on funding specialist nurses to ensure potentially life saving clinical trials can be made available to patients who need them.
We’re proud to be nominated by Cure Leukaemia as one of their fundraising champions.
Over the years we’ve baked, shaved, exercised, cycled, hosted a family fun day, sold hundreds of raffle tickets, cycled some more, and eaten way too much cake!
Speaking of cake, we’ve also helped 9-year-old Emilia, daughter of caboodle Managing Director Catherine, publish her own recipe book to raise vital funds for the charity! You can find out more about ‘Emilia’s Cakes and Bakes’ on Emilia’s JustGiving page.
